NOTD: Purple Fire

Hey everyone! So I finished up this manicure today--which was inspired by one that I had done for my friend Danielle a couple of days ago--and I showed it to my other friend Lauren who said, "Whoa, it looks like purple fire!" Hence the title of this blog post. So without further ado, here come the pictures! enjoy :)

Ok, so I started with my favorite plum color China Glaze Urban-Night. Then I added OPI Alpine Snow and Essie Watermelon using the dry water marbling technique.

Thanks for stopping by, come back again soon! Love, passionnforpolishh <3

NOTD: I Want Candy

Hello again everybody!!! I am so sorry I have been way too busy enjoying my first month here at Cal State Northridge to get a blog post up for you guys! But I have not forgotten about you, and I hope you haven't forgotten about me! Today's post is girly and fun and I hope you enjoy it :)

Ok, so this manicure started with OPI Alpine Snow! Then on my ring fingers and thumbs, I added a candy pattern with plate BM306 using Essie Watermelon (pink), China Glaze Urban Night (purple), and ULTA Blue Streak (blue). Then I added some China Glaze Fairy Dust to top it off! I also added pink, purple, and blue heart-shaped rhinestones on the rest of my nails to match the gradient of the stamp.

Let me know what you think!! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a fantastic day!! <3

NOTD: Move In Day!!

Hello everyone, some of you may know that I just moved in to my new home in the dorms at CSU Northridge :) This manicure is a little messy because I was having a lot of trouble with the stamp I was using for some reason :/ but it was inspired by my bedspread in my new room! So let's get right to it, enjoy!

So this manicure started with OPI Alpine Snow. Then I stamped a sort of fake watermarble design from plate BM320 using Revlon Black Satin. Then I added a touch of teal by adding dots of A-Englang Galahad.

And below, you can see the inspiration for this manicure! Thanks for stopping by! :)

NOTD: A Day at the Zoo

Hello everybody! I know it's been a while since my last manicure, but I am happy to tell you that I am back with a fun manicure that was inspired by my trip to the San Francisco Zoo with my mom, sister, grandma, aunt, and cousins this past Saturday. We had an awesome time, and I decided to use some of my stamping plates to make an animal print manicure! Today's post will feature this mani, but I have also included some pictures from our day at the zoo. enjoy :)

This is me and my sister riding a lion haha :)

Anyway, down to my nails!! The giraffe print nails started with a color that I mixed together. I mixed A-England Holy Grail and Essie Action. Then I used Sally Hansen Forbidden Fudge to stamp on the prints from BM313. The Cheetah print nail started with A-England Holy Grail as a base, and I used Revlon Black Satin with stamping plate m57.

I started the tiger nail with Essie Brazilliant, and used Revlon Black Satin on plate BM16. And last, but not least, the Zebra nail started with OPI Alpine Snow, and I used Revlon Black Satin on plate m57 for the print.

I hope you guys enjoyed this manicure and let me know what you think in the reactions boxes below!! Here are some of my favorite pictures from our zoo adventure.

NOTD: Funky Flip Flops (Picture Heavy)

Hello again everybody! Today's manicure was inspired by the fact that I just got the 2012 set of stamping plates from Bundle Monster and wanted to try one out (I chose the flip flops pattern) and by the fact that I wanted to try out this new dry "water marbling" technique I've being hearing/seeing so much of recently. So, without further ado, today's post. enjoy :)

Ok, so for my pointer, middle, and pinky fingers, I started out with two coats of Sally Hansen Ivy League. Then I sponged on Revlon Ocean from the middle to the tip, then Zoya Tallulah at the tips. Then I stamped on the flip flops pattern from stamping plate BM309 with OPI Alpine Snow.

Now for my accent nails (ring fingers and thumbs). I started with one coat of OPI Alpine Snow as a base and let that dry completely. Then I started the dry "water marbling" technique. I put another--relatively thick--coat of OPI Alpine Snow, then while that was still wet I painted diagonal stripes of Sally Hansen Ivy League, Revlon Ocean, and Zoya Tallulah. Then I dragged a toothpick through the wet polish, and voila! I think it turned out pretty cool for my first attempt :) Let me know what you think in the reactions boxes and/or comment section below!

NOTD: Basket Case Nails

Ok, so I tried out a new nail art trend that's been going around, and last I saw, it was called "basket case nail art". So it didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it to... I need to practice making straight lines with my nail art brushes. But here it is for those of you that want to check it out. enjoy :)

I started off with two coats of my favorite (and probably overused) white polish OPI Alpine Snow. Then I added the purple lines and the colors are (from the center to the outside) A-England Elaine, ULTA Celebutant, and OPI Planks A Lot. I tried to do an ombre type thing within the original basket case design. Let me know what you think in the reaction boxes or comment section below! Thanks for stopping by! <3

NOTD: Fourth of July 2012

Happy 4th of July everybody!! I hope you are all having a marvelous day. Even if you do not have big plans to celebrate today, I think it's important that we all at least take a moment to remember the brave people that made our freedom possible so many years ago, and the men and women in the armed forces who continue to protect that freedom to this day, and thank them for their selfless service. Now I know that this manicure is nothing compared to the crazy Fourth of July skittle manicure I did last year... but I have some fun Jamberry nail shields that I thought were perfect for Independence Day :) They are black with little red, white, and blue (teal) fireworks. Check 'em out and enjoy :)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a safe and happy 4th of July!! :)

NOTD: A Day for Daisies

Hello everyone! I am sorry for the long break, but I went to Disneyland last week which was AWESOME! :) And recently we've been watching a lot of old home movies from when my sister and I were just babies, and today we were at the county fair! I hope all of you are immensely enjoying your summers as well! Today I have a fun, girly manicure for you. enjoy :)

So I started with a base coat of OPI Pink Friday (which you can't really see anymore because the other two colors sort of sponged right over it on my short nails). Then I spoged with ULTA Flamingo and ULTA Coral Chic. Then I stamped on this cute daisy pattern from plate BM16 using Sally Hansen Celeb City. I hope you all have a marvelous evening, and I will be back tomorrow with a Fourth of July post for you to check out! Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check the box for your reaction to this manicure at the bottom of this post, or even leave me a comment (questions are good too)! I really appreciate all of my readers, any and all of your feedback! <3

NOTD: Wild Thing

Hello everbody! I hope you are all having a marvelous summer, because I definitely am! :D I am excited to show you this manicure today because I have finally purchased a new glitter polish that I have been dying to get, and now I can show it to all of you!! enjoy :)

This gorgeous glitter polish is nails, inc. Connaught Square and is part of their 3D Glitters Special Effects collection. This picture doesn't even do this polish justice as it doesn't capture the amazing sparkle that reflects of the glitter to the naked eye. This polish is a mixture of tiny blue glitter and bigger pieces of hot purple hexagonal glitter in a clear base. I am in love <3

So obviously I used nails, inc. Connaught Square for the majority of my nails. My accent nail is OPI Alpine Snow with the leopard print from stamping plate m57 using Revlon Black Satin. Then I filled in the leopard spots with nails, inc. Connaught Square.

Here are a few more pictures. Don't forget to check the box for your reaction at the end of this post! Thanks for stopping by!! :)

NOTD: Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend ;)

Okay okay... so I'm not exactly talking about the sparkly rocks we like to adorn ourselves with and hope to one day wear on our ring finger... I'm talking about the diamond patterned nail shields that I recently purchased from Jamberry. Which, ironically enough, I have chosen to use as an accent on my ring fingers! :P Anyway, I think this design is super fun. enjoy :)

The blue color used in this manicure is Zoya Tallulah, and the pink is China Glaze Purple Panic (NEON).

I apologize for there only being one picture f this manicure, but I have had an extremely long and exhausting (but fun) day today and have to get up pretty early for work tomorrow, so I only felt like editing and posting one picture for this post. I hope you can all forgive me ;P Don't forget to check the box for your reaction below! Thanks so much for stopping by! <3

Senior Ball Nails 2012

Hello everybody! I am so sorry, I totally forgot to post the Senior Ball manicures that I promised you all. I did custom acrylics for my sister and her friend. We designed the tips to match their dates' garters. I hope you like them! enjoy :)

First, here is a picture of my sister and her ball date:
Ahh!! so cute! :D And just for fun, here's another picture from Saturday night of my sister getting a smooch on the cheek from yours truly ;)

Okay, I guess it's time to give you some nail art. The purple color I used for this manicure is A-England Avalon, and the white (used for stamping) is OPI Alpine Snow. I used the stamping plate m57 for the lace and the flower.

Next up, is my sister's best friend Hayley. First, here's a picture of her with her ball date :)

I love these two! <3 Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of her date's garter that we matched her nails to, but it had white lace, turquoise ribbon, and hot pink flowers :) so cute!! We also neglected to take pictures of Hayley's nails until they were all trying to get out the door to go to their other friend's house to take more pictures haha so these photos aren't the best, but I'll show them to you anyway.

The turquoise color I used here is Zoya Tallulah. I used the same stamping plate for the lace as I did for my sister's manicure. I used a dotting tool for the little pink flowers with Essie Watermelon, and I added a dot of A-England Merlin to the center of the smaller flower. I also added China Glaze Fairy Dust for a little extra sparkle :).

And here is a close-up. Granted, it is a little blurry, I apologize, but you get the idea...

Alright! Well that's all for today lovely readers! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out this post! <3

NOTD: Pretty in Pink

Hello lovely readers! :) Today's manicure is really simple, I was at a loss for creative ideas when I started it last night. But I ended up really liking it, so I'm posting it for you all to enjoy. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!!

I used OPI Pink Friday and Essie A Cut Above for this manicure. I am loving this rosy pink combo!

NOTD: So Ready For Summer!

Well it's starting to feel like summer outside, and I cannot even wait for my classes to be over for the semester!! I will be leaving junior college after the next two weeks are over, and I am so excited to transfer to CSU Northridge and move on with my life!! :D
Today I have a summery manicure for you that was inspired by this awesome weather (I'm even wearing a sun dress today, yay!) Anyway, on to my nails. enjoy :)

For this manicure, I started out with Essie Sweet Talker. Then I added some yellow polka dots with ULTA Sun-Sational. I painted the sunglasses on my ring finger using Essie Watermelon (my favorite summer shade of pink) and Revlon Black Satin.

Happy summer, and thanks for stopping by! <3
