NOTD: Nautical Nails

Happy last day of February to all of my lovely readers! Today I have a manicure for you that I am pretty much in love with! :) I've had the idea sort of floating around in my head for a while, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I hope you'll agree! enjoy :)

For this manicure, I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Then, I used scotch tape to make the stripes with NOX Talon. Then I added little red rhinestones on all but my ring finger.

And last but not least, I painted a little gold anchor on my ring finger using A-England Holy Grail! :)

Swatches: Part of the OPI Nicki Minaj Collection

Okay, so I am very excited to be creating this post for you all because, though I know that the OPI Nicki Minaj Collection has been out for quite some time now, I have finally gotten my hands on the four colors from this collection that I was really dying to try out! :) So here you go, this is going to be a pretty long and pretty photo-heavy post, so if you're not interested, I apologize, I will try to put up something more interesting for you all this weekend. But if you were thinking about buying any of these colors, I hope this post is useful in helping you make your decisions! I have for you Metallic 4 Life, Fly, Did It On 'Em, and Pink Friday. enjoy :)

So first off we have Metallic 4 Life. This polish is many different sizes of silver glitter suspended in a black jelly base. In the pictures below, I used two coats of this polish.
However, I think it would have been easier to paint my nails black first, then layer this polish on top.

So I'm not in love with this polish. It's cool and pretty unique, but it was very difficult to work with. If you are not patient with your polish application or you don't have much time to do your manicure, this is not the color for you. Not only do you have to be patient to get an even and opaque finished product, but you also need to work somewhat quickly as the polish gets gluey, clumpy, and thick really fast both on the nail and at the edge of the bottle. As is with many glitter polishes, it chips and peels off easily. :/

Next, we have Fly. Now this color I absolutely ADORE!! I cannot get enough of this beautiful deep, dark, turquoise creme polish! So without further ado, here are several pictures of this polish at different angles and in different lights so you can see this color in all of its glory! :) I used two coats of this color.

Next, we have Did It On 'Em. This polish is a bright, neon, yellow-green. I thought it looked weird with my skin tone at first, but then it kind of grew on me :) I used three coats of this color because this polish had a much thinner formula than most of OPI's polishes.

Last but not least, we have Pink Friday. This polish is a lovely light rosy, salmony, bubblegumy pink creme! :) I used two coats of this color.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful friday! <3

Swatches: nails, inc. Houses of Parliament Magnetic Polish

Hello everyone! Today I finally tried out the nails, inc. Houses of Parliament Magnetic Polish that I got for Christmas! It was so quick and easy, and I really like how it turned out! I think it looks really sassy and sexy, and still really classy and elegant. Totally wearable for those of you who want something a little different on your nails without going crazy and water marbling or painting yellow submarines on your nails ;) The formula is great and so easy to apply, and the magnet works in a matter of seconds so you don't have to worry about holding it over your nail for an extended period of time and running the risk of touching the magnet to your wet polish and getting frustrated :) I highly recommend this polish! enjoy :)

NOTD: Happy Valentine's Day!

Well it's that time of year again! Happy Valentine's Day to all of my wonderful readers! <3
Today I did my first jelly sandwich manicure, which for those of you that are hearing about this for the first time, is where you pick a jelly-like polish that doesn't really become completely opaque no matter how many coats you use ( I used NOX Red Velvet). You put on a coat of that color, then a coat of the glitter of your choosing (I chose OPI Servin' Up Sparkle) and then apply another coat of your jelly color.. and tadahh!! jelly sandwich :) It subdues the glitter a little bit and adds a really interesting effect in my opinion.. let me know if you agree (or not) haha! I also added little hearts with OPI Alpine Snow for Valentine's Day. enjoy!

NOTD: Inspired by Wedding Petals

Hello everyone! I know it's been a while since my last post, but that challenge wore me out! haha today's manicure was inspired by a picture that I saw on Pinterest, but it originally came from this website: http://scotthopkinsphotography.com/summer-and-bill-st-simons-wedding-photographer/.php

Here's the inspiration photo:

I love love LOVE these flower petals down the aisle!! So I recreated this design with a bit of a twist. I thought that the colors of these petals would look awesome on top of a plum color, so that's what I did! Take a look and enjoy :)
I apologize, I have not gotten my new camera yet, so just try to hang in there through the grainy/blurriness :/

Here are the colors I used left to right:
China Glaze Urban-Night, OPI Alpine Snow, Essie Watermelon, Essie Braziliant

And here are some more photos :)
